We will introduce the requirements for completion and course registration for Department of Japanese Literature and Language.
Master's Program
Completion Requirements
Students are required to be enrolled for at least two years, earn a total of at least 30 credits including lectures and seminars, and receive necessary research guidance. Students who have entered through the general entrance examination must submit a master's degree application thesis, and those who have entered through the working adult entrance examination must submit the results of research on a specific topic, and pass both the examination and the final examination. Students who have entered through the working adult entrance examination may also submit a master's degree application thesis and have it examined, but in that case, they must pass the final examination and one foreign language certification. Furthermore, of the above 30 credits, up to 10 credits of courses from other departments in the Graduate Graduate School of Literature and other graduate schools with the permission of the research supervisor and the instructor in charge of the course in question may be accepted as credits for completion. However, with regard to the period of enrollment, students who have achieved outstanding research results may be required to be enrolled for at least one year.

Completion Requirements
Students entering the doctoral program must appoint a research supervisor, choose a research topic under his or her supervision, obtain the required credits and research guidance shown in the table below (required credits for graduation), and pass a foreign language certification exam.

Although the standard period for completing a doctoral course is three years (Article 10 of the University Regulations), if the above conditions are met, it is possible to complete the course within three years of enrollment. In such cases, students will be able to complete the special research guidance by acquiring the number of credits corresponding to their enrollment period.
